Thankfully nobody has been injured in a brazen daylight robbery at Thirroul Commonwealth Bank around midday today (Friday June 8).
Police say a man, believed to be armed with a firearm, threatened bank staff and demanded money. He escaped with an amount of cash and was seen getting into a vehicle that was parked outside.
Numerous police units attended the scene with the bank area closed off.
Pol Air was also called in to help with the investigations.
Meantime, following lines of enquiry and a possible sighting of the vehicle that was allegedly seen Thirroul, a police operation has seen Point Street in Bulli closed off.
A man has been taken into custody as a result of that operation.
