Sad days for the Northern Illawarra community this week with the loss of two local surfers.
Jayson Squires established Cool Change Surfboards and was working out of Timber Mill Studios.
His funeral will be held at Hansen and Cole Kembla Grange at 10am on Saturday August 12. Then at Pepes On The Beach at North Wollongong. Everyone attending has been asked to wear their brightest colours and brightest smiles.
A paddle-out in his honour will be held at Thirroul on August 20.
Sandon Point regular Gary Haines, or Curly, also passed away recently. His funeral will be held at C3 Church Thirroul at 2pm on August 16, then on to Thirroul Bowlo.
‘Curly’ had a reputation in the 60s, 70s and 80s for his protection of ‘The Jetty’ and his belief it was best used by local surfers.
