Nothing screams fun like a good old fashioned school fete. St Michaels School in Thirroul are holding their annual school fete on Saturday 15th June, kicking off at 10am with a great day out for the whole family. There is plenty to see and do, from live entertainment, trash and treasure, stalls, books, pre loved clothing and vintage finds.
“We always have such a great response from local businesses in our area and we feel lucky to have their support.” said organiser, Jodie Duffy, “For our students it is also about creating happy childhood memories of their time spent at St Michael’s and they look forward to the big day for months in advance. It’s nice to see that in this technical age of ipads and ipods that something as simple as a fete can still put smiles on faces.”
“There will plenty of gourmet food available including the much loved and talked about paella, plus fresh produce, those yummy chicken wraps, and what is a school fete without an array of delectable sweets? There will be lots of interactive activities for the kids on the day including cake decorating, crazy hair and face painting – there is something for everyone.”
“This event has been a big highlight for years in the Illawarra and attracts a wide range of people across the northern Illawarra from all walks of life. The great thing about our fete is that it brings not just the school community together as we raise funds for teaching resources, but it also brings the wider community together in a fun and relaxed environment.”
The Fete is the schools major fundraiser for the year and is a well anticipated event around the community, so come along and join the fun.
