A Stanwell Park lifeguard provided assistance in the recovery of three people who were swimming at Stanwell Park beach after lifeguard hours on Monday 31 March.
Wollongong City Council Senior Lifeguard responded quickly and provided assistance with local surfers who had recovered three people from the water. The three swimmers had become trapped in a small rip at the beach.
Beach Services Coordinator Jason Foye said: “This is a timely reminder of the importance of swimming at patrolled beaches within patrolling hours and always remember, NO FLAGS = NO SWIM.”
