Stop CSG Illawarra will hold a meeting in the Thirroul Railway Hall on Sunday (June 21) at 11am.
The group claims that despite some significant wins, there is still no permanent legislation in place to protect our water catchments.
The Stop CSG group says their lobbying has helped stop the coal seam gas industry from drilling locally, as well as helping with the rejection of the local Development Application and the cancellation of three CSG local licences affecting water catchments in Sydney and the Illawarra.
The group says AGL’s massive PEL2 licence is still in place, so they’re now focussed on having that cancelled, but to do something of this magnitude takes people power.
The group is urging locals not to underestimate your individual contribution, but to get along to the meeting and show support for the banning of this potentially devastating form of mining.
The meeting will be held at the Thirroul Railway Hall on Sunday June 21 at 11am.
