There’s a little bit of good news surrounding the end of Daylight Savings this weekend.
The change marks the onset of ‘winter’ times regarding dog beach access.
That means if you’re using beaches in the ‘Orange Zone’ , as of Sunday, your doggo has access until 9am and after 4pm- as long as they’re on a lead.
Orange Zones include:-
- Stanwell park
- Headlands Boat Ramp
- Sandon Point
If you’re at a designated dog beach, a ‘Green Zone’, (Stanwell Park North, Sharkeys, Little Austi and McCauley’s) Council says it’s important to note that walkway access, carpark and adjoining parks and reserves are not part of the off-leash area. Dogs must be kept on leash and under effective control at all times until reaching the designated off-leash area.
Don’t forget, all rock platforms and ocean pools are out of bounds to dogs, regardless of the season. Fines apply.
