The studio was located on the southern side of Thirroul for many years, and has more recently relocated to Anita’s Theatre opposite Beaches Hotel.
Although synonymous with pain, the studio also delivers much pleasure, especially with a new concept that will be launched on Sunday 31st August called ‘Tattoo for Cancer’.
“We have guest artist’s from Sydney helping out with the tattooing. There’s been heaps of donations with some great art, clothes and other cool stuff, even a surf board from DP Surf Thirroul which will be auctioned off. The Beaches hotel has kindly donated money and are also holding the after party.”
“As for me, I’ve been tattooing 20 short years now. Started Soul Expression around 17 years ago with the insight to building what it is today. I felt the need to try and help cancer research after seeing loved ones and so many other people go through cancer. There’s a cure out there and Australian researchers are some of the best in the world! So all money we raise will go straight to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.”
“I have been living in Thirroul for around 25 years and it’s a beautiful town with awesome people. I hope everybody from all over the Illawarra comes out for the day in support, even if they don’t get a tattoo but just come by, grab a sausage sandwich and maybe help with a donation or bid on the silent auction and join us at the after party.”
“I’d love more than anything for this to be a really successful and fun day for all, raise heaps of money and then have everybody wanting another day like it in the future :)”
“Thanks very much for the help – I really do appreciate it, and thank you to all involved including the artist’s giving up their time, the Beaches hotel, all the companies donating stuff and everybody that plans on coming.”
