They’ve only been open four days but already Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar in Thirroul has made almost 600 pizzas!
As luck would have it, the business, run by Coledale’s Anne Doyle and her family, opened in State of Origin week.
“We were swamped,” says Anne. “People stood five deep at the counter. It was baptism by fire, and although people had to wait a bit longer than normal, we managed to fill all the orders.”
Anne says they’ve already decided to expand their operations. “We ordered a second oven today,” she says. “But there is a positive in all that chaos. One dollar from every pizza we sell this week goes straight to local charity Need a Feed, so the more pizzas we sell, the more it helps Shaz Harrison-Shaw provide for struggling local families.”
