The Instafamous are coming to the Northern Illawarra.
Destination Wollongong has enlisted the aid of five of the world’s leading travel Instagrammers to help sell the city, and surrounds.
Between them, these photographers have 850,000 followers across the world, making them a powerful marketing tool for the Illawarra.
Detsination Wollongong CEO Mark Sleigh says the Instagrammers will share images of our beautiful area that will encourage tourists, both national and international.
“This is an amazing opportunity to use new media, and fresh, creative eyes, to sell our city,” he says.
“We are also having an Insta-meet on Tuesday Sept 22 at Flagstaff Hill. Locals who use Instagram are invited to come along, meet the ‘famous-five’, pick up some tips, then go out and use the hashtag #visitwollongong to show the world the beautiful place we live in.”
During next week, the group will venture north to visit Symbio Wildlife Park, Bald Hill and the Seacliff Bridge
Among the Instagrammers is Wollongong local Will Patino, (william_patino)
