Sunday 20th October is the kick off for local Nippers at Thirroul, with boosted numbers showing that the club is still ticking all the boxes for the local kids and parents interested in surf awareness and beach culture.
“Lots of activities with our Nippers – this season we’re focussed on getting more members.” said Lachlan Pitchard, Club Captain. “We’re also introducing a new program where we’ll be teaching a bit about surfing as well – which adds some leisure aspect, as opposed to the competition side of Nippers.”
“We’re also encouraging members from Western Sydney to come down – a couple of years ago we decided that it was a good idea to start educating people from over the mountain, as they are quite often the ones that get in trouble in the surf.”
