The three-month trial of express trains stopping at Austinmer has now ended, however trains will continue on their current timetable until the results are assessed.
The Thirroul Transport Committee is calling for a slight alteration to the timetable that sees some weekday express trains also stop at Bulli station, to share the load across the Northern Illawarra, and free up parking issues in Thirroul.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra Gareth Ward has confirmed that in the short term, there will be no change to services.
“Over the coming months all options will be considered before any change is made permanent. We will also continue to monitor patronage at Austinmer.
“Further analysis will be done, including what a permanent change could mean for the other services on the network.
“The priority will be to deliver outcomes that benefit the majority of South Coast Line customers in the long run.”
