Green Left Weekly is holding a Solidarity Dinner on Saturday 10th August, from 6.30pm at Thirroul Railway Hall and also launching the new book, ‘Latin America’s Turbulent Transitions’.
“The book launch is a fund-raiser for Green Left Weekly, which is an independent media outlet, which is important considering that 70 to 80% of our mainstream media controlled by the Murdoch empire.” said Chris Williams, who is a local campaigner with Stop CSG Illawarra, “It’s important to support independent, alternative and progressive media, and part and parcel of that is helping to raise funds for it.”
Guest speaker at the event will be Federico Fuentes, co-author of the book Latin America’s Turbulent Transitions, and will participate in a Q&A session on the night.
Entry is $35 waged ($50 solidarity) / $18 concession.
