A man has faced court following an alleged armed robbery in Thirroul on Friday, June 8.
Just before midday, a man, believed to be armed with a firearm, entered a bank and is believed to have threatened staff while demanding money.
A sum of cash was handed to the man and he ran from the bank. He was seen getting into a vehicle that was parked outside.
Credit to Wollongong Police, with the assistance of the Dog Unit and PolAir, who located the vehicle a short time later on Point Street, Bulli, arresting a 42-year-old man and 39-year-old woman.
The pair was taken to Wollongong Police Station.
Officers executed a crime scene warrant at a unit on Point Street and seized a number of items, including clothing.
The 42-year-old man has been charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
The 39-year-old woman was released pending further inquiries.
