Crews are today cleaning up a local picnic area after vandals made a mess of the Kelly’s Falls section of the Garawarra State Conservation Area near Helensburgh.
The area is listed on the Australian National Heritage Register.
Local resident Alan Bond spotted the damage. He says signs have been damaged, along with trees- with one of the settings being removed altogether.
He says a fire has also been lit in the open, in this bushfire-prone area. “It’s always good to carry a mobile with you,” he says, “so you can record incidents like this when you see them.”
