Looks like the Sea Cliff Bridge is being stolen- one bolt at a time.
More than 50 huge bolts have been take from the bridge. They are easily accessible from the walkway and appear to have been souvenired from the safety rails.
A spokesman for the RMS says they are aware of the missing bolts, but are certain their theft will not impact on the safety of the bridge.
“The images of the Sea Cliff bridge show missing bolts in the top railing system which separates a pedestrian pathway from motorist travel lanes,” they say. “The bolts allow the railing to expand and contract during extreme weather and do not impact on the structural integrity of the bridge.
“Roads and Maritime Services is aware of the missing bolts and will replace them shortly.”
