It’s the end of an era with Wombarra sculptor Gaby Porter and partner John leaving the area- and closing the beautiful Wombarra Sculpture Garden.
For many years, the property on Morrison Ave has drawn tourists and art-lovers who’ve delighted in the array of beautiful sculptures, nestled into the incredible rainforest setting.
In recent times, Gaby and her husband John have only opened by appointment, but have still welcomed countless visitors who have enjoyed picnics and tours of the acreage, filled with the most beautiful and sometimes quirky creations.
Now, Gaby and John are downsizing and moving on. They’ve sold the property and will leave next week.
“Half the sculptures have been sold, some will stay and some we will take with us,” she says. “the property has been bought by artists who will continue with the spirit of the garden, and I will continue doing sculpture, but on a smaller scale, with less to maintain.”
